Griffonia
Griffonia, the African black bean, contains large amounts of 5-HTP and is therefore the natural basic substance for serotonin formation. An excessive deficiency of 5-HTP and thus serotonin triggers depression, anxiety, aggressiveness, cravings for carbohydrates and sweets, addictive behavior, sleep disorders, memory lapses, inability to learn, migraine attacks, menstrual cramps, suicidal thoughts, pain, impaired intestinal peristalsis, fibromyalgia (chronic muscle pain). When abstaining from sweets, the antagonist of growth hormone, insulin, is greatly reduced in its concentration and activity. In the absence of insulin, more endogenous growth hormone is also produced, which in turn promotes the regeneration and repair of all cells.
In the cardiovascular system, serotonin influences the contraction of the arteries, helping to control blood pressure. In skeletal muscles, serotonin dilates blood vessels, increasing blood flow. In the liver and brain cells, the extremely important 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is formed in youth and under optimal conditions from the amino acid tryptophan by the enzyme tryptophan hydrolase. This process is severely limited in many people, especially with increasing age or stress. Therefore, 5-HTP should be supplied to these people. From the supplied 5-HTP is then formed, but only in the brain cells, 5-hydroxytryptamine (5 HT) or serotonin.
Fields of application:
- Aggression
- Addictive behavior of any kind, such as binge eating
- Depression and suicidal tendencies
- Sleep disorders, memory lapses, inability to learn
- Pain (fibromyalgia)
- Migraines
- Anxiety and stress
- Circulation
______
Rhodiola rosea
Rhodiola, the rose root, is a high mountain plant and comes from the Crassulaceae family. It is common in the arctic regions of Europe and Asia. The use of Rhodiola in traditional folk medicine is varied. It is said to increase physical endurance, enhance work performance, provide long life, prevent altitude sickness, combat fatigue, anemia, impotence, gastrointestinal complaints, infections and nervous disorders. In the mountain valleys of Siberia, the bride and groom were given a bundle of the root tubers at their wedding so that they would have many, healthy children.
In Central Asia, tea made from rhodiola was the tried and tested remedy for colds, sniffles and coughs during harsh winters. For centuries, only individual family members of the Asian peoples knew where to harvest the root and how to extract it. The Chinese emperors reverently called it "Golden Root". The exact mechanism of action of Rhodiola rosea is not yet fully understood, especially since the many ingredients act very differently in the body. Studies from recent years have mainly focused on the influence of Rhodiola on mental performance. Probably the ingredients of Rhodiola influence the metabolism of some neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and acetylcholine in the brain. The neurotransmitters serve to process information and store it in the brain. The optimal interaction of these neurotransmitters is responsible for mental performance and ultimately memory. Presumably, Rhodiola positively influences the release of these neurotransmitters and also promotes the permeability of the blood-brain barrier for their precursors.
Indications:
- Increase of physical and mental performance.
- fatigue, nervous disorders, impotence
- anemia, iron deficiency
- Flu infections
- Gastrointestinal disorders
